Matcha Ginger Zinger Drink from Tati Chin

"Mah-cha Gin-jer Zin-ger"

What I'm calling the zinger is an easy-to-make drink that'll satisfy your lingering sweet tooth (guilty) but give you a little kick, too! Think of it as having the foundations of a mojito but a distant cousin of a kombucha drink. You can enjoy it before a work out or even when you're craving a soda or cocktail (but can't have one). The choices is yours, amigo.

Now that we've got that out of the way, let's talk matcha! If you follow me on Instagram you've probably seen me post about this green stuff 🍵 on my stories lately. Get your notebooks ready kids, cause class is now in session.

What is matcha? It's a fine, green powder made of green tea leaves, usually sourced from Japan and stone-ground.

What does it taste like? The simple answer is green tea. With a stronger earthy and herbal flavor.

How do I use it? You can mix it with hot water or milk, blend it into your morning smoothie, use it in baking, or stir it into a matcha ginger zinger, hehe. 😜

What are the benefits of matcha? It's chock-full of antioxidants, it can boost your metabolism (and who doesn't want that?), it gives you an energized calm or feeling of "zen", and a nice energy boost. I find it gives me the energy of a cup of a double espresso without the jitters, which is a major key. 🗝️

Why Greenboxed matcha? It's USDA organic, sourced from Japan (hello, important!), stone-ground, tastes amazing, and is a good value per serving when compared to other brands of matcha I've tried in the past. Greenboxed is also a small, family-owned business, so working with their brand was a no-brainer! Did I mention their matcha comes in the perfect portable pouch? So you can keep one at work, one in your gym bag, or anywhere you'd need a pick-me-up.
